Dr. Sonya Melville has devoted the past 20 years to caring for the sick or injured, working both in academic medical centers, teaching residents in training, as well as in community ER’s as an Emergency Medicine Physician. Majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, Dr. Melville graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisiana – Monroe. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport followed by post-doctoral training at the LSU Health Science Center also in Shreveport. 

In addition to her medical training, Dr. Sonya Melville has taken a special interest in the investigative field and has completed a number of training courses from Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service such as; Basic Criminal Investigations, Death Investigations, Scene Basics: Security, Searches & Documentation, Investigative Tools & Equipment, as well as Basic Fingerprint Processing. When Dr. Melville is not working part-time as an emergency medicine physician in North Richland Hills, Texas, she is working as a private investigator for Bearden Investigative Agency. Joining BIA in 2023, Dr. Sonya’s medical background has afforded her the experience needed to be exceptionally skilled at the detailed, observant, and precise work required of a highly skilled investigator.
